Why Warm Up the Bench Press?
A good warm-up grooves your bar path, raises muscle temperature and recruits the stabilisers around your shoulders before you hit heavy loads. This generator uses a proven ramp — empty bar, then roughly 50%, 70%, 85% and 95% of your top set with descending reps — so you arrive at your working weight feeling sharp, not fatigued.
Questions
Warm-Up FAQ
How many warm-up sets do I need?
For most lifters 4–5 ramp sets are ideal. Heavier top weights justify more steps; light days need fewer.
Should I warm up to failure?
Never. Warm-up reps should feel easy and crisp — they prepare you, they don't tire you.
